It´s official !!

Next November 30th I will start at The Walt Disney Pictures studio , as part of the animation team of Rapunzel.

It has been years and years of hard work , trying to get to work on the US on a big animated film, and after lots of negatives and false hopes , it finally arrived, and I couldn´t be happier with the opportunity.

I will post photos, and comments about my journey to Los Angeles , and the first impressions.

Ya es oficial! Próximo 30 de noviembre voy a empezar en el estudio de Walt Disney Pictures, como parte del equipo de animación de Rapunzel.

Han sido muchos años de duro trabajo, tratando de trabajar en los EE.UU. en una película de animación de las buenas, y después de muchas negativas y falsas esperanzas, finalmente llegó, y no podría estar más contento con esta oportunidad.

Iré publicando fotos y comentarios acerca de mi viaje a Los Ángeles, y las primeras impresiones.

I can´t stop doing this paintings!! I´m getting the hang of Sketchbook pro , plus Photoshop on the Cintiq . I created some custom brushes that really work for me and I feel really confortable with them. This is a portrait of my girl , ( again!) this time giving a different more "cute" and volumetric approach. Comments are welcome!

Estoy viciandome a dibujar estos retratos!! , cada vez intento librarme mas de la linea de contorno y optar por una ilustración mas volumétrica. Le he pillado el truquillo ya al Sketchbook pro , junto con el Photoshop en la Cintiq. Tengo creados unos pinceles personalizados que me funcionan muy bien. Los comentarios son bienvenidos!

I´m so excited with the Cintiq!! My friend Pedro Daniel reccomended me Sketchbook Pro for drawing , and WOW is just an amazing software, it feels really natural drawing on this and the amount of configuration for the brushes is just great!.

Estoy flipado con la Cintiq! , Mi colega Pedro Daniel me ha recomendado el Sketchbook Pro para dibujar , y la verdad es que va de puta madre. Te pilla el trazo de forma muy natural, y tiene mogollon de configuraciones distintas para los pinceles.

Ok, This is slowly coming together I have inked The Fairy using my
brand new Cintiq. Now is Time to finish inking the background
and foreground elements, and then putting some colors in.. I
changed the wings a bit to give them a more organic look.

OK poquito a poco esto ya va cojiendo forma he terminado de
entintar la hada, estrenando mi nueva y flamante Cintiq.Ahora
me queda terminar de poner la línea a el fondo y empezar a dar
color...
He cambiado las alas un poco para darle Un aspecto más orgánico.

I left this one waiting for long time, now I have some time. I added foilage an some more detail , still thinking about how is this going to look. I did a small thumbnail on the iphone for the general feel of the colors, but I need to do a more definite version of that.

He tenido que dejar esta ilustracion de lado mucho tiempo, pero ahora tengo ya por fin algo de tiempo asi que me he puesto a ello. He empezado a poner detalle de la vegetacion del fondo y demás , me falta aun entintar a la hadita. Aun no tengo muy claro como va a quedar esto , pero bueno el otro dia hize un pequeño boceto de color con el iphone, y creo que ira por ahi el asunto aunque falta detallar todo un poco mas.

I´m doing this ilustration for my girlfriend´s blog and I have this
first rough witch is in fact her posing .I´m thinking about ginving it an Alfons Mucha style,
with lots of vegetation patterns and decoration. I will keep posting
the process as I go.
He comenzado esta ilustración para el blog " Un rincón en la noche ".He empezado con el boceto que es ni mas ni menos que Érika posando.
Estoy planeando darle un estilo modernista como un cuadro de Alfons
Mucha, con mucho motivo vegetal y mucha decoración. Iré posteando el
paso a paso segun lo voy haciendo.

Here is a caricature of the people in our room. We are 40 animators,
but divided in different rooms o 6-7 people.I our room we are 8 and 2
animators were living today so I decided to create this image as a
souvenir so we can all remember the times were we worked in this crazy
alien movie!!
I really wanted to do the people as if they where inhabitants of
"Planet 51", but it was quite a challenge!. It´s been really hard to
keep the likeness of the caricature without drawing the nose , and
transforming the hair into some sort of tentacle/rubber.

Esta es una caricatura del grupo de animadores de nuestra sala. Somos
40 animadores pero estamos divididos en salas de 6 o 7 . En nuestra
sala somos 8 , y hoy se iban 2 a sus respectivos paises. Asi que
decidí hacer este dibujo para que se lo llevaran de recuerdo de lo que
fue trabajar en esta peli.
Mi ambición era hacer la caricatura de la gente pero como si fueran
habitantes de "Planet 51" , es decir, sin nariz, verdes, con antenas y
sin pantalones!!. La verdad es que fue todo un reto, es bastante
dificil que se parezca la gente si le quitas la nariz, pero bueno , al
final ha quedado resultón y la gente se quedó encantada.
